freeing learners everywhere to realise their potential

FUTURE LEARNING #1
September 2022

Fundamental changes are required in the way we provide access to quality teaching and learning. New digital technologies can create a personal experience for every learner and can break the boundaries of geographic location, widening the opportunity of access for all. Looking ahead, the key to making best use of digital innovations is to rethink the concepts of "teacher" and "school". Breaking free from the constraints of tradition will result in significant improvements in both the efficiency and effectiveness of providing quality education at scale.

These new ways of thinking underlie the launch of the UCT Online High School, which opened its virtual door to 4000 learners in January 2022.
